Friendly reminder that Palestinians have to celebrate Ramadan while bombs are being dropped all around them, in the last designated ‘safe zone’ and they have no where else to go. Every single bomb is dropped with the intent of committing genocide. They still manage to celebrate and find joy in the holiday but they deserve to celebrate it the same way so many of us in the west celebrated our last Christmas, new years, valentines and likely Easter, feeling safe and happy with all their loved ones. It’s been almost six months since the Israel occupation started these terrorist attacks against these beautiful people and those people are still being murdered in cold blood. They’re being murdered while attempting to get flour from aid trucks because they’re starving, being intentionally starved by the Israel occupation and so much worse I know I was silent for months before this and I won’t try to excuse or deny that, so I’m changing that now. Seeing that it’s the start of pride month and a bunch of people have started plastering rainbows on everything to either express themselves or show their support I feel it’s important to call out the many examples of people, specifically corporate companies, slapping a rainbow logo on simply to save face. If you aren’t in a position to do those things, then share those organizations and creators around to get help them out there, educate yourself on lgbtqia+ experiences whenever you can and most of all just treat people with basic human decency.
